December 1, 2024: Enjoy the Key Chorale in concert for their Winter's Glow performance. The dancing color bursts of the aurora borealis are the inspiration for a program featuring Nordic music and tales celebrating the magic of the winter season. Ola Gjeilo’s Dreamweaver, choreographed by The Sarasota Ballet’s principal dancer Maximiliano Iglesias, is a story of a holiday transformation inspired by a Norwegian folk poem featuring Lithuanian soprano Lina Dambrauskaite, an emerging operatic artist gaining attention worldwide. December 1 - 17, 2024: It's the fifth annual UTC Festival of Trees. The annual UTC Festival of Trees is a showcase and silent auction of holiday trees creatively decorated by local charities. Spectators are invited to pay to vote for their favorites and bid in the online silent auction for a chance to take a tree home. 100% of the money raised goes back to each participating charity, and additional prizes are awarded to the top three entries with the most votes. The 2024 UTC Festival of Trees is presented in partnership with Nathan Benderson Park Conservancy and hosted inside the Mall at UTC, which attracts 40,000+ visitors per day over the holiday season. Tree entries will be displayed Nov. 25 – Dec. 17 throughout the upper level and available for viewing during mall hours. An opening night reception will be held Monday, Nov. 25 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Mall at UTC. Participating charities are encouraged to invite board members, volunteers and supporters to attend this special preview to generate awareness and excitement for the silent auction and voting. December 1 - 22, 2024: Take a ride on the North Pole Express, a 35 minute ride from Parrish, FL to the North Pole. Upon arrival, everyone will detrain at our special North Pole station where Santa awaits to visit with every child. December 1, 2024 - January 5, 2025: Yes! Wonderland is back with Illuminate, a dazzling, never-before-seen production. Join Nik Wallenda and the Circus Arts Conservatory under the climate controlled big top at UTC. “Wonderland” will take audiences on a heartwarming and visually stunning journey that brings together the enchantment of the winter holidays and their unique traditions. December 1, 2024 - January 5, 2025: Lace up your skates for some wintertime fun because a real ice rink is back at UTC! The Rink is located in the West District at UTC, right next to Ford’s Garage. Ticket Prices: Individual tickets: $17.00 per skater. Tickets include ice skate rental. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. All hours are subject to weather and rink conditions. You will be sent an email if your ice skating reservation must be rescheduled. In case of severe weather that causes a public safety concern, skaters may be asked to leave the outdoor event. December 2, 2023:TBA for 2024. Bradenton Beach Marina will present the 5th Annual Bradenton Beach Holiday Boat Parade. Boat owners are invited to show off their holiday spirit and their beautifully lit vessels in a Parade along the Intracoastal Waterway. View the annual boat parade from Bradenton Beach Marina’s Paddle Boat or from the Bradenton Beach pier. Vessels in the parade will gather near the south end of Jewfish Key. The parade will head northwest along the Longboat Pass Bridge and then north in the Intracoastal Waterway. December 2, 2024: Join the Venice Concert Band for the Holidays. The concert theme is Holiday Gems as the Venice Concert Band performs many of the traditional sounds of the season. The band will get your holiday season started with some joyous sounds as they present old classics as well as new arrangements to fill your hearts with the Hanukkah and Christmas spirits. Tickets will be available for this performance November 18, 2024. If you do not have season tickets, you can purchase $14 tickets online two weeks before each performance or $14 (cash only) tickets at the door on concert dates. December 3, 2024 - April 9, 2024: Enjoy the Bayfront Gardens at The Ringling for Acoustic Sunsets with a solo musician on Ca' d'Zan Terrace! December 3 - 8, 2024: European charm is coming to the Bradenton Area. This holiday season, the Bradenton Area Convention Center will be transformed into an authentic “European” holiday market with a gulf coast twist. Step into a simulated European train depot complete with the howl of a train whistle and steam from the engine. Once guests exit “the depot” they will “arrive” at a quaint European village simulated through state-of-the art video projections emulating the unique long-standing traditions and architecture of Germany, France and other European countries. The European Holiday Market will feature artisan vendors selling seasonal treasures, European-inspired delicacies like German pretzels and French pastries as well as Floribbean flavors like fresh shucked oysters. Event attendees will enjoy festive beverages like traditional Glühwein (mulled wine) accented by a Florida twist. Guests will also enjoy interactive activities like holiday wreath-making as well as live performances featuring seasonal music and exquisite stage performances. December 4 - 8, 2024: Check out the Inaugural European Holiday Market, the Bradenton Area Convention Center’s new signature event. European Holiday Market guests will enter the convention center and step into a simulated European train depot from the 1880s. Once guests exit “the depot” they will “arrive” at a quaint European village lined with artisans offering one-of-a-kind treasures. European-inspired dishes with a Gulf Coast twist will be offered by local caterer Oscura and will include dishes like lamb meatball skewers, Bavarian pretzel bites, grilled bratwurst and Belgian waffles with chocolate. Anna Maria Oyster Bar will be serving the freshest local catch paired with festive holiday margaritas and more. December 5 - 8, 2024: You're invited to the 50th Annual Singing Christmas Tree Spectacular to enjoy the wonder of Christmas. Presented by the First Sarasota Downtown Baptist Church, The Singing Christmas Tree, some 25 feet tall, sporting over 10,000 lights with 12 levels that hold 115 choir members, is a music and drama production written & directed by church members and accompanied by an orchestra featuring songs of the Christmas Season and stunning pageantry. December 7, 2024: It's the 6th Annual Braves Tomahawk 5K, Run a quick 1 mile around the concourse of Cool Today Park! You'll enjoy a rollicking flat course along the roads near the park, a behind the scenes path through the stadium grounds as you make your way to the field. You'll loop around the warning track on field and see your 3rd base finish on the giant 40'X80' JumboTron. Your post race breakfast at the Tomahawk Tiki Bar plus 2 chips for your choice of soda or beer all included with your registration. The Tiki bar will also have Mimosas, Bloody Mary's and the full bar selection available for purchase. Bring the family for a fun day at the park. December 7, 2024: It's the 27th Annual Jingle & Jog 5K Run/Walk in support of The Haven to benefit people of all ages with disabilities. December 14, 2024: It's National Wreaths Across America Day at Sarasota National Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance Wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes. Wreaths Across America coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at more than 3,400 locations across the United States, at sea and abroad. 23,600 Veterans Wreaths are needed on December 14, 2024. You may help our location lay wreaths at as many graves as possible by clicking the red "Sponsor" button. Or, if you would like to volunteer to participate in the wreath laying ceremony, please click the “Volunteer” button next to the cemetery name, and don't forget to click the "Invite" button to invite your friends and family to join you. December 25, 2024: The annual Pinecraft Christmas Parade usually draws over 1,000 spectators to this Sarasota Amish and Mennonite Community for the parade, traditionally held on Christmas afternoon, winding through the neighborhood streets. Started by local resident Mike Miller in 1999, it's the biggest event of the year in the neighborhood. Each night an additional light is kindled until the Menorah is ablaze with eight beautiful lights in celebration of Chanukah.
