December 1, 2024: Enjoy warm gulf breezes, fresh seafood and live musical performances  at the 8th Annual Sarasota  Seafood & Music Festival. Enjoy the best and freshest cooked foods by local restaurants and food purveyors. Foods are cooked on-site using such ingredients as grouper, mahi mahi, stone crabs, oysters, shrimp and soft-shell crabs. A variety of vegetarian and rice dishes are available as well as non-seafood items. Live music, too: While savoring your meal, relax to some of Florida’s top musical groups from genres such as R&B, blues, jazz, rock and Caribbean sounds. On the breaks between performances, enjoy shopping in a marketplace of fine arts, crafts, and select fine products and food items. Free admission. December 1 - 17, 2024:  It's the fifth annual UTC Festival of Trees. The annual UTC Festival of Trees is a showcase and silent auction of holiday trees creatively decorated by local charities. Spectators are invited to pay to vote for their favorites and bid in the online silent auction for a chance to take a tree home. 100% of the money raised goes back to each participating charity, and additional prizes are awarded to the top three entries with the most votes. The 2024 UTC Festival of Trees is presented in partnership with Nathan Benderson Park Conservancy and hosted inside the Mall at UTC, which attracts 40,000+ visitors per day over the holiday season. Tree entries will be displayed Nov. 25 – Dec. 17 throughout the upper level and available for viewing during mall hours. An opening night reception will be held Monday, Nov. 25 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Mall at UTC. Participating charities are encouraged to invite board members, volunteers and supporters to attend this special preview to generate awareness and excitement for the silent auction and voting. December 1 - 22, 2024: Take a ride on the North Pole Express, a 35 minute ride from Parrish, FL to the North Pole. Upon arrival, everyone will detrain at our special North Pole station where Santa awaits to visit with every child. During your stay a variety of entertainment, activities, camp fires and all the hot chocolate and cookies you care to eat are included with every train ticket. December 1 - 31, 2024: It's the annual “FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS,” a display of more than ONE MILLION LIGHTS and themed decorations at Fisherman's Village. 1200 W. Retta Esplanade Punta Gorda, FL. December 1, 2024 - January 5, 2025: Yes! Wonderland is back with Illuminate, a dazzling, never-before-seen production. Join Nik Wallenda and the Circus Arts Conservatory under the climate controlled big top at UTC. “Wonderland” will take audiences on a heartwarming and visually stunning journey that brings together the enchantment of the winter holidays and their unique traditions. This year’s show features fan favorites like the hilarious Johnny Rockett, the electrifying Ty McFarlan, and Sarasota’s own legendary Nik Wallenda! It's a show that, promises a blend of thrilling circus acts, mesmerizing aerial performances, and uplifting holiday storytelling. Various dates and show times. December 1, 2024 - January 30, 2025: Rise up! Harlem Renaissance visual artists, writers, musicians, and playwrights did. And they have much to teach about resilience, creativity, and freedom in challenging times. “When I Rise Up: The Power of Black Artists” is an exhibition presented by the Sarasota African American Cultural Coalition. December 2, 2023:TBA for 2024.  Bradenton Beach Marina will present the 5th Annual Bradenton Beach Holiday Boat Parade. Boat owners are invited to show off their holiday spirit and their beautifully lit vessels in a Parade along the Intracoastal Waterway. View the annual boat parade from Bradenton Beach Marina’s Paddle Boat or from the Bradenton Beach pier. Vessels in the parade will gather near the south end of Jewfish Key. The parade will head northwest along the Longboat Pass Bridge and then north in the Intracoastal Waterway. The parade will pass alongside the Bradenton Beach City Pier and end at the Bradenton Beach Marina. Starts at 6 p.m. Free. Bradenton Beach, Anna Maria Island. 941-778-2288.

December 2, 2024: Join the Venice Concert Band for the Holidays. The concert theme is Holiday Gems as the Venice Concert Band performs many of the traditional sounds of the season. The band will get your holiday season started with some joyous sounds as they present old classics as well as new arrangements to fill your hearts with the Hanukkah and Christmas spirits. Tickets will be available for this performance November 18, 2024. December 2, 2024: Monday Night Jazz at the Cabaret, the Jazz Club presents Mauricio Rodriguez and the MJR Latin Project at the John C. Court Cabaret at FST; 1st St and Cocoanut Ave, Sarasota. Concert begins at 7:30 pm. Doors open at 6:30 for food and beverage service.

December 2 - 3, 2023: TBA for 2024. Enjoy Wintergreen Weekend at the Point: A Victorian Family Holiday.  Kick off the holiday season with festive, time-honored traditions at our scenic Historic Spanish Point campus. Join us for “reindeer” pony rides, holiday storytelling, handbell performances, and more! Admission is free for Selby Gardens members and included with general admission. 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Member guests $11, Adults $26, Ages 5-17 $11, Age 4 and under Free. December 3, 2024 - April 9, 2024: Enjoy the Bayfront Gardens at The Ringling for Acoustic Sunsets with a solo musician on Ca' d'Zan Terrace! This event will feature a solo or duo musical group performing acoustic music as the sun sets on beautiful Sarasota Bay. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. 5:30 p.m. $15 Members. Tickets will be available 30 days prior to each event. In the case that there are tickets still available one week prior to each event, members will be able to purchase up to 4 guest tickets $20 each. December 3, 2024: Check out Lakewood Ranch's Main Street and celebrate the Holiday Season and Festive Photos with Santa! You will find festive lighting displays to bring the sparkle to your child’s eyes, and Santa himself will be here, taking photos at the Christmas tree, spreading loads of Christmas cheer and sharing that all familiar laugh. December 3 - 8, 2024: European charm is coming to the Bradenton Area. This holiday season, the Bradenton Area Convention Center will be transformed into an authentic “European” holiday market with a gulf coast twist. Step into a simulated European train depot complete with the howl of a train whistle and steam from the engine. Once guests exit “the depot” they will “arrive” at a quaint European village simulated through state-of-the art video projections emulating the unique long-standing traditions and architecture of Germany, France and other European countries. The European Holiday Market will feature artisan vendors selling seasonal treasures, European-inspired delicacies like German pretzels and French pastries as well as Floribbean flavors like fresh shucked oysters. Event attendees will enjoy festive beverages like traditional Glühwein (mulled wine) accented by a Florida twist. Guests will also enjoy interactive activities like holiday wreath-making as well as live performances featuring seasonal music and exquisite stage performances. Children will be welcomed to pose for a photo with Santa and his set of holiday friends. December 4 - 8, 2024: Check out the Inaugural European Holiday Market, the Bradenton Area Convention Center’s new signature event. European Holiday Market guests will enter the convention center and step into a simulated European train depot from the 1880s. Once guests exit “the depot” they will “arrive” at a quaint European village lined with artisans offering one-of-a-kind treasures. European-inspired dishes with a Gulf Coast twist will be offered by local caterer Oscura and will include dishes like lamb meatball skewers, Bavarian pretzel bites, grilled bratwurst and Belgian waffles with chocolate. Anna Maria Oyster Bar will be serving the freshest local catch paired with festive holiday margaritas and more. Some of the merchants include eco-friendly jewelry, hand crafted floral designs, and island inspired art and trinkets, to name a few. Tickets: $15 in advance, $20 at the door. December 5 - 8, 2024: You're invited to the 50th Annual Singing Christmas Tree Spectacular to enjoy the wonder of Christmas. Presented by the First Sarasota Downtown Baptist Church, The Singing Christmas Tree, some 25 feet tall, sporting over 10,000 lights with 12 levels that hold 115 choir members, is a music and drama production written & directed by church members and accompanied by an orchestra featuring songs of the Christmas Season and stunning pageantry. December 6, 2024: Lakewood Ranch presents  Music on Main: Celebrating the Holidays – Doug Demming & The Jewel Tones will fill the air with rockin’ rhythm and blues and the event will benefit Easterseals Southwest Florida. The event begins with a special performance at 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Join in with their annual Christmas Carol Sing-a-long beginning at 6:00 p.m., followed by “Santa’s Arrival” and the tree lighting ceremony of a 60' tall Christmas Tree. On Friday, December 6th from 3 – 7 PM & Saturday, December 7th from 2 – 7 PM, celebrate the holiday season with the return of Palmetto’s Christmas in the Park at the Palmetto Historical Park & Manatee County Agricultural Museum. December 7, 2024: It's the 6th Annual Braves Tomahawk 5K, Run a quick 1 mile around the concourse of Cool Today Park! You'll enjoy a rollicking flat course along the roads near the park, a behind the scenes path through the stadium grounds as you make your way to the field. You'll loop around the warning track on field and see your 3rd base finish on the giant 40'X80' JumboTron. Your post race breakfast at the Tomahawk Tiki Bar plus 2 chips for your choice of soda or beer all included with your registration. The Tiki bar will also have Mimosas, Bloody Mary's and the full bar selection available for purchase. Bring the family for a fun day at the park. Additional breakfast buffet tickets will be available to add on during registration. Great looking shirts and custom finishers medals for all! December 7, 2024:  It's the 27th Annual Jingle & Jog 5K Run/Walk in support of The Haven to benefit people of all ages with disabilities. Registration includes race t-shirt, food, refreshments and swag bag. Starting at The Haven’s beautiful campus nestled on 32-acres of lush Florida scenery, participants will experience a smooth course under the canopy of oak trees. Registration: $40. December 7, 2024:  It's the Children's Garden Candy Cane Hunt!  Magic elves have sprinkled different candy canes all over the Garden! Find one of each kind to add your goodie bag, then enjoy holiday music with a candy cane ornament craft. Don’t forget to drop off your letter to Santa before you leave! Tickets available for sale on day of event, no RSVP needed. $5 per child participating in hunt (while candy canes last) , not including admission to the garden. Members only pay for the event. December 7, 2024: The Ringling Museum presents Free Family Day with free admission to the museum for families, and art-making in the MakerSpace using botanical debris from Hurricane Milton. We hope you can find solace on our campus and in works of art, as well as a mindful reprieve in art-making at The Ringling. No registration is required. FAM (Family Art Making) is a free program that's fun for the whole family! Join us for creative art projects inspired by an object in our collections. Afterwards, visit the museum to see that object in person! You will be able to visit the Museum of Art and the Circus Museum with your FAM wristband that is provided at check-in. December 7, 2024: Ho, Ho, Ho! Newtown Estates and Laurel Parks are hosting Breakfast with Santa. Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources invites children ages 12 and under and their families to the free Breakfast with Santa event, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Enjoy listening to Christmas music, games, arts and crafts as you dine on pancakes, sausage, hot cocoa and orange juice. There will be photo opportunities with Santa, as well as a story time with Mrs. Claus. Don’t forget to write your letter to Santa and give it to the big guy in person! Space is limited. December 7, 2024: It's Manatee County's annual A Night Before Christmas which features Santa and Mrs. Claus. visiting G.T. Bray Park. This year, get ready for an even-better family fun event at the annual Night Before Christmas with newly extended hours, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. This year they are expanding the offerings and holding it at the Manatee County Fairgrounds, 1402 14th Avenue West, Palmetto, FL.  Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting and taking professional FREE pictures with the children. December 7, 2024: Soon after the announcement that one of Sarasota-Manatee’s largest annual music festivals, The Bradenton Blues Fest, will not return this year, a new event featuring the former festival’s artistic director has been announced: The Lakewood Ranch Blues Festival. The December 7 line up includes: Danielle Nicole Band, Venessa Collier, Monster Mike Welch, Kat Riggins, Dylan Triplett and Melody Angel. December 7, 2024: It's the North Port Poinsettia Parade.  The Poinsettia Parade will start at 5 p.m. and march south down Sumter Boulevard from Sylvania Avenue through the City Center Campus, ending at the Festival (a prime location to catch the parade). Floats adorned with poinsettias, decorated vehicles, and escorted by North Port Fire Rescue, Jolly Ole St. Nick will make a special appearance in the parade. The parade will end at the annual Poinsettia Festival. The Festival will include a tree lighting ceremony and will take place throughout the grounds of the City Center Campus, including on the Front Green and inside City Hall from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.. December 7, 2024: It's the Annual Christmas Jeep Convoy  put on by the Sarasota and Bradenton Jeep Clubs. Be sure to deck out your Jeep with your favorite lights and decorations - the more the merrier! They'll meet at De Soto Square Mall in Bradenton starting at 5 p.m. The convoy will pull out at 7 pm. December 7, 2024: The Venice Christmas Boat Parade starts at 6 p.m. (rain date is the next day) along the Intracoastal Waterway in Venice starting at the Albee Road Bridge in Nokomis and moving south along the waterway with turnaround before the Circus Bridge in Venice. Spectators line the north (at South Nokomis Beach) and south (at North Venice Beach) jetties and throughout the downtown and Venice waterfront areas to the judging area near the south Circus Bridge for a view of the brightly lit and colorfully decorated “Christmas Boats.” 6 p.m. Admission is free. December 7, 2024:The 28th Annual Sarasota Holiday Parade takes place in downtown Sarasota on the first Saturday evening of December. With thousands participating and even more thousands viewing, the parade kicks off at 7 p.m. with decorated floats, live marching bands and the guest of honor "rounding" out the parade, Santa Claus. December 14, 2024: It's National Wreaths Across America Day at Sarasota National Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance Wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes. Wreaths Across America coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at more than 3,400 locations across the United States, at sea and abroad. 23,600 Veterans Wreaths are needed on December 14, 2024. You may help our location lay wreaths at as many graves as possible by clicking the red "Sponsor" button. December 25, 2024: The annual Pinecraft Christmas Parade usually draws over 1,000 spectators to this Sarasota Amish and Mennonite Community for the parade, traditionally held on Christmas afternoon, winding through the neighborhood streets. Started by local resident Mike Miller in 1999, it's the biggest event of the year in the neighborhood. Assemble in parking lot at Der Dutchman restaurant, 3713 Bahia Vista Street, beginning at 1:00 p.m. or right soon after lunch. Parade starts after that about 3 p.m.  Bring a lawn chair for a sidewalk seat. Anyone is welcome to ride in parade. The 'party kicks off at 1:00 p.m. with Amusement Rides & Games (at 5 Points Park) Food, Drinks & Full Bar Concessions along with Live Music at 8:30 pm.
