Events in Sarasota: Throughout the year and mainly during "Snowbird Season" and "High Season" there are numerous recurring, fun events in Sarasota to keep one and all busy and entertained.
From things to do at the beach or a stroll through the local artist community to, perhaps, a farmer's market, there's something for everyone.
Here below, then, is an ever growing list of fun events that happen on a more frequent schedule in Sarasota and around the Sun Coast area.

Free Yoga On Siesta Key Beach

Kids Summer Beach Runs
Every Tuesday and Wednesday evening through summer
Registration starts at 5:30 p.m., race time: 6:30 p.m.
Begins: June 2 & 3, 2020 through July 28 & 29, 2020
One of the Annual Summer Events in Sarasota: The Kids Summer Beach Runs
are 1-mile beach runs held every Tuesday (through July 28) at Siesta
Beach on Siesta Key near the pavilion, and every Wednesday (through July
29) at Brohard Beach (1600 Harbor Drive) next to the Venice Fishing
Pier, near Fins at Sharky's, Venice. Participation ribbons awarded each
week. Complete four runs and earn a free custom T-shirt. Registration at
each location begins at 5:30 p.m. and the beach run starts promptly at
6:30 p.m. (no run on June 30 and July 1) The runs are a popular summer
event combining exercise and fun. Ages 1 - 17. Free. 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Phillippi Farmhouse Market
Every Wednesday from October through April
9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Features locally grown fruits and vegetables, including local USDA
certified organic produce and hydroponics. There are also plants, herbs,
hanging baskets, shrubs and cut flowers for sale along with a wide
variety of locally baked goods, delicious barbeque, plenty of food and
beverage vendors, arts and crafts, soaps and candles and always live

The Beach Market at Coquina Beach - Anna Maria Island
Every Wednesday and Friday April through July
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

beautiful white sand beach, relax on the deck overlooking the Gulf and
get some great food and beverages at the Coquina Café. Free Admission

Nokomis Beach Drum Circle
Every Wednesday Evening, before and leading up to sunset.
Year round
One of the weekly events in Sarasota: This informal group gathers to beat their drums, bongos, tambourines and
whatever else they have. The rhythms get going an hour or so before
sunset and end with a crescendo as the sun dips out of sight. Bring your
own drum or tambourine, beach chair, cooler with refreshments and even a
picnic basket and join in the zany fun.

It's a free weekly event featuring a food truck rally, live music, family friendly games, an outdoor bar and more.

Towles Court Artwalk

All remain open for their enchanting THIRD FRIDAY ART WALKS with free
music, events, and refreshments monthly. Towles Court is often referred
to as "Sarasota's hidden treasure" because of its natural beauty and
prevalence of unique artistry. Towles Court Artist Community is a
colorful collection of "Old Florida" bungalows that house galleries and

Sarasota Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Show Team
Every Sunday starting in late September through early November and shows resume after the first of the year, usually in February through the first Sunday in May.
2 p.m. Ski-A-Rees Stadium is on Ken Thompson Parkway on City Island next to Mote Marine Aquarium. The Sarasota Ski-A-Rees are a tradition that goes back to October, 1957. Shows are free. (941) 388-1666
The Siesta Key Beach Drum Circle
Every Sunday Evening - before sunset local time
Another of the year round events in Sarasota, you'll find The drums beating and people dancing every Sunday evening on Siesta Key Beach. It takes place about an hour before sunset, just south of the main pavilion on Siesta Public Beach. Listen for the drums and follow the crowd. Bring your chair or beach blanket and refreshments. Even bring your own drum and play along!
Venice Beach Drum Circle
Every Sunday about 1 1/2 hours before the climax of the light of day (Sunset).
