March 1, 2025: It's the Palmetto’s Heritage Festival at Palmetto Historical Park & Manatee County Agricultural Museum. Fun for all ages with activities throughout the park. This FREE event will have a park open house and activities for the whole family. Tour all 7 on-site buildings in a historic open house. The 1880 Heritage Station Post Office will be operational with a one-day-only cancellation designed by a local student artist. Bring your stamped mail! Enjoy heritage crafts for all ages. March 1, 2025: The Friendship Knot Quilt Guild presents their quilt show "2025 Quilts in Paradise." Over 200 show quilts and challenge quilts will be on display, with a special exhibit of "Antique and Heirloom Quilts". They will be auctioning off small wall quilts and a nice variety of quilt blocks ready to be made into the quilt of your choice. For those interested in purchasing quilts and other items there will be a Quilter's Market, where members can offer their quilt artistry for sale. In addition, there will be vendors selling everything from needles and thread to sewing machines. Admission is $10.00. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Robarts's Arena, 3000 Ringling Blvd, Sarasota, FL.

March 1, 2025: It's the Summer kick-off Youth Activity Fair at Phillippi Estate Park. Gather all of the resources you need to plan for your family's summer! March 1, 2025: The Ringling Museum presents Free Family Day with free admission to the museum for families, and art-making in the MakerSpace using botanical debris from Hurricane Milton. We hope you can find solace on our campus and in works of art, as well as a mindful reprieve in art-making at The Ringling. No registration is required. FAM (Family Art Making) is a free program that's fun for the whole family! Join us for creative art projects inspired by an object in our collections. Afterwards, visit the museum to see that object in person! You will be able to visit the Museum of Art and the Circus Museum with your FAM wristband that is provided at check-in. Tickets: This program is free, however tickets are required. Tickets are limited and will be available online approx. 14 days prior to each program. March 1 - 2, 2025: It's the 2025 Megalodon Challenge with the Shark's Tooth 10K & the Shark Fin 5K! The iconic Shark's Tooth 10K will be professionally chip-timed with custom finisher medals and locally printed custom race shirts. One of the favorite races for locals and visitors alike. You can also do the Shark Fin 5K or a virtual Sharks Tooth 10k. The Shark's Tooth 10K Starts at 7:15 a.m., the Shark Fin 5K starts at 8 a.m. Do both or just one. March 1 - 2, 2025: Rev it up now! The 19th annual Firestone Grand Prix roars into St. Petersburg featuring Indy Car style racing through the streets. More than 150,000 fans are expected to view the race, a 1.8 mile 14-turn course through downtown St. Pete. With three days of racing and entertainment and festival events tickets start at $25 with numerous high priced packages available also. St. Petersburg, FL.

March 1 - 2, 2025: It's the 24th Annual Downtown Venice Art Classic which brings together longtime favorites and newer names in the contemporary art scene. March 1 - 2, 2025: Enjoy the Sarasota Festival of the Arts with original works of artisans and crafters from throughout Florida and across the United States. Over 70 artisans will showcase their art, in the process creating an outdoor gallery of spectacular painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, glass, ceramics, fiber and wearable art, mixed-media, metalwork, graphics, woodworking and more. March 1 - March 16, 2025: Fox Lea Farm is hosting the 10th Annual "Show Jumping Under the Stars" Grand Prix series during the Venice Equestrian Tour Winter Horse Show Series offering over $1,000,000 of prize money. This annual nine-week Hunter/Jumper series will feature Show Jumping Under the Stars every Friday night, where you can watch world-class talent as they compete for a chance for a piece of the $25,000 purse. Show Jumping Under the Stars will take place every Friday from January 17th through March 14th, 2025. The $5,000 National Hunter Derby starts at 3:30pm, the $24,999 Grand Prix starts at 7pm. March 1 - April 13, 2025: Sarasota's Bayfront Park has been the backdrop for Embracing Our Differences' colorful, larger-than-life canvases integrating powerful imagery and thought-provoking messages celebrating diversity. The scale and impact of this outdoor exhibition has continued to grow. In 2023, 320,616 people visited the exhibition—bringing the total amount of visitors to more than 4.3 million since 2004. The 2023 Exhibit has had an impressive response to the call for artwork and inspirational quotes, with 13,733 entries pouring in from 119 countries and 45 states. Students from 424 schools around the world submitted artwork or quotes.. (Park entrance is located at the corner of Ringling Boulevard and Bayfront Drive/US Route 41). March 1 - June 29, 2025: Marie Selby Botanical Gardens will present George Harrison: A Gardener’s Life, which examines the work of major artists through the lens of their connection to nature and will explore the deep and meaningful connection between musician George Harrison – best known as the lead guitarist of the legendary rock band The Beatles – and the pastime of gardening, which became his greatest passion. George’s love of gardening was an integral part of his identity. In an interview in Rolling Stone magazine in 1979, the renowned singer-songwriter described himself as “just a gardener.” His strong association with gardening was further illustrated in his 1980 autobiography, I Me Mine, dedicated “to gardeners everywhere.” A selection of special programs will be scheduled throughout the run of the exhibit. A highlight will be An Evening with Patti Smith Dedicated to George Harrison on February 12 at Selby Gardens' Downtown Sarasota campus featuring Selby Gardens' iconic Artist in Residence Patti Smith. March 2, 2025:  Enjoy Sarasota's own Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Team and their Sunday afternoon show at 2 p.m. at Ski-A-Ree Stadium. This free show takes place at 1602 Ken Thompson Parkway (near/behind Mote Marine Aquarium on the water.) 2 p.m. 388-1666.

March 2 - 3, 2024: Next show is in 2026. The Venice Area Quilter's Guild presents it's 2024 Quilt Show, "Quilting By The Gulf XX." View their beautiful quilts and vote for your favorite. Shop for handmade gifts at the Boutique. As you enjoy your day at the show, don't forget to obtain a ticket for their gorgeous original-design raffle quilt entitled, "Sunshine & Sea Breezes." This custom design quilt measures 90" x90" and features a Mariners Compass in the center that is surrounded with art deco borders, and is all custom quilted.  Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday 9 a.m. -  4 p.m. $10 at the door. March 3, 2024: TBA for 2025. It's the Gamble Plantation Historic State Park 62nd Annual UDC Spring Open House. During the Mansion's 'free tours' see the many lifestyle demonstrations of  the era of the 1840’s - 1870’s. The ladies of the United Daughters of the Confederacy will be wearing costumes reminiscent of the era of the 1840’s through 1870’s to add that special touch of authenticity to the day. The Gamble Mansion will be open to the public with free tours of the building. There will be music, crafts and fun for everyone. March 3, 2025: Come out for Ringling by the Bay featuring live music and dancing with Bruce Glasberg “Big Night Out” on the Bolger Campiello. Food and drinks available for purchase. 5:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. Tickets will be available approx. one month prior to each event, and will include a 24 hour pre-sale period for members. Members please note: $20 tickets are limited to one for Individual Memberships and two for all other Membership levels. Tickets are limited and will be available on a first come-first serve basis. March 3, 2025: The Jazz Club of Sarasota presents Monday Night Jazz at the Cabaret presents an exciting evening of jazz featuring trumpeter James Suggs and Friends, one of the finest trumpet players in the Bay area, has performed critically acclaimed tribute shows to Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis and Harry James. His CD, "You’re Gonna Hear From Me," has received rave reviews from critics. “I’m all about sound and James has it. It’s bright, but never brash. March 4, 2025: It's Mardi Gras in downtown Venice. Join Venice MainStreet as it celebrates Mardi Gras in Downtown Venice! Enjoy live music as you take a stroll on Fat Tuesday! 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. W. Venice Ave, Downtown Venice, FL.

March 5, 2025: It's a free concert with live music with the Gentlemen of Jazz. Music selections represent traditional jazz from the 1920s and 30s to hot jazz and swing of the 20's and 30's. It's a traditional American art form that provided the basis for many songs that now comprise the Great American Song Book. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit around the Gazebo where musicians perform. Enjoy the tunes from 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. This free concert take place every Wednesday through March 26, 2025 in Centennial Park's Gazebo in downtown Venice, FL.

March 6, 2025: Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources' Beach University series returns to the Siesta Beach main pavilion. In partnership with the Siesta Beach Ambassador volunteer program, this free educational series invites community members and visitors to learn about coastal environments in one-hour sessions. Beach University sessions are from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., at the main pavilion on Siesta Beach. (Last year they were every Thursday in March at the main pavilion on Siesta Beach), 948 Beach Road on Siesta Key. Free for ages 10 and up.  Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs as seating is limited. No registration is required.

March 6 - 9, 2025: The 97th Annual Arcadia All-Florida Championship Rodeo happens at the Rodeo Arena in Arcadia, about an hour's drive east of Sarasota.  Events include bareback riding, barrel racing and bull riding. Various ticket prices. Notes: Tickets are not refundable or exchangeable. The show goes on rain or shine. All seats are covered. March 7, 2025: Check out Jazz at Two and enjoy some great straight ahead jazz along with contemporary and original compositions from the Michael Ross ‘4’. His newest CD release of original compositions “Giraffe” has received great reviews from jazz critics. March 7, 2025: It's the first Friday of the month so that means Music on Main at Lakewood Ranch from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. MonkeyFinger will fill the air with classic rock, pop and a sprinkle of hair metal and the event will benefit Lakewood Ranch Community Activities. Bring your chairs, but leave coolers at home. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a short leash. Overflow parking is available at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. March 8, 2025: Check out their new location for The 26th Annual Cortez Nautical Flea Market with lots of used boat stuff, some new boat stuff, too, to buy or trade along with antiques, dive gear, fishing gear and more. Meet fellow boaters, enjoy some live music, food and have a good time. 8:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Free admission. Open to the public. March 8, 2025: The Sarasota County Fire Department (SCFD) is excited to continue its monthly open house events in 2025, inviting the community to connect with their local firefighters and learn about fire safety. These free, family-friendly open houses are held one Saturday each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Car seat safety inspections and bike helmet fittings will also be available. It will be a vintage collector’s paradise with offerings from a variety of artists who create wearable clothing and accessories that feature vintage photographs and who specialize in re-purposing vintage apparel. Also find wall hangings crafted from stained glass and natural elements to sculpted work and intricate jewelry created from antique buttons, sterling silver and semi-precious stones. March 8, 2025: Get ready for the 11th Annual Top Dog: A Boho Barn Raising - a fun-filled day of raising funds and spirits with live music, food trucks, and exciting activities for all ages. Help raise the roof (or barn) while supporting a great cause. Don't miss out on this paws-itively awesome event with the Top Dog Costume Contest and the crowing of Top Dog 2025! March 8 - 9, 2025: It's the 37th annual Holmes Beach Spring Fest Fine Arts & Crafts Fest on Anna Maria Island. Nearly 80 juried Fine arts and fine craft exhibitors. Each year, The Anna Maria Island Art League hosts “Springfest” Art Festival. This festival is a combination of people, education, entertainment and food; where you can find amazing items, hand crafted and offered for sale by talented artists. “Springfest” brings talented artists and art lovers, from near and far. March 10, 2024: TBA for 2025. The region’s best Bus Operators will be putting their skills on display at the annual Tampa Bay Area Regional Bus Roadeo and Technology Expo. The bus rodeo tests service delivery operating skills in a series of competitions around a test road course set up with cones, barrels and bus stops. Transit bus maintenance skills are also part of the event, as each agency’s maintenance technician team is evaluated on their overall knowledge and diagnostic skills. The competition will determine the most skilled bus operators and maintenance technicians in the state. One transit agency will be declared the overall winner for the “Best of the Bay” competition. In addition, the first-place transit and paratransit winners from each respective transit agency will advance to the Florida State Five-Star Bus Roadeo in Jacksonville on April 19 to 20, 2024. The competition is free and open to the public. The event begins at 8 a.m., with rodeo driving activities underway by 9 a.m. Manatee County Transit Fleet Facility, located at 2411 Tallevast Road.

March 10, 2024: TBA for 2025. Come walk the Red Carpet as the Sarasota Film Society will be hosting its  Academy Awards Party. Watch the Academy Awards live on the Big Screen. The evening will also feature unlimited popcorn and choice of one adult or fountain beverage. March 12, 2025: Marie Selby Botanical Gardens presents its 2025 Performances at the Point outdoor world class performances by local performing arts organizations at the Historic Spanish Point campus in Osprey with the Astralis Ensemble. The event is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., doors open at 6:00 p.m., and guests will have time to enjoy the area around the historic White Cottage, Sunken Garden, and Pergola overlooking Little Sarasota Bay prior to the performance. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Michael’s on East. Tickets are $25 for Selby Gardens members and $35 for non-members, children 5-17 $15.00, and may be purchased online at selby.org. Advance ticket purchase is required. March 14, 2025: Get your toes tappin' at Jazz at Two and enjoy music from the great American composers and jazz standards with the Kitt Moran Quartet. Before moving to Florida, Kitt performed in the top jazz clubs in NJ and NYC
including Michael's Pub, the Village Vanguard, The Blue Note, Gregory’s, Gulliver's, Trumpets and Shanghai Jazz; also Bally’s, Las Vegas and many Atlantic City casinos. Each year, the University Park Country Club (UPCC) hosts a fine art show featuring over 150 works of art created by local artists. March 23, 2025: It's the "Tour de Parks Fun Ride" on The Legacy Trail to celebrate its anniversary. It's an on-road bicycle tour of varying distances along the paved trails and roads of Sarasota County. March 24, 2024: TBA for 2025. State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host Maverick’s Rhythm & Rave, a free community party featuring live music, line dancing, a petting zoo, rock climbing, chainsaw art, food trucks and other fun activities for all ages, Local musician Trevor Bystrom and his multicultural band will perform on the main stage followed by Derek Lersch, a touring country rock act. .5 p.m. - 9 p.m. The family-friendly event is appropriate for audiences of all ages. March 24, 2025: Join the Venice Concert Band for "Music, the Universal Language," with music from Paris, Cuba, Ireland, Arabia, and America, this concert will remind you that music is truly the universal language of mankind! Tickets will be available for this performance March 10, 2025. March 26, 2025: It's a free concert with live music with the Gentlemen of Jazz. Music selections represent traditional jazz from the 1920s and 30s to hot jazz and swing of the 20's and 30's. It's a traditional American art form that provided the basis for many songs that now comprise the Great American Song Book. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit around the Gazebo where musicians perform. The Annual Anna Maria Island Heritage Day Festival will feature arts & crafts booths with artisans demonstrating and selling their wares. March 29, 2025: Kids and kids at heart can enjoy fun art and nature activities as Family Saturdays Return to Selby Gardens’ Downtown Sarasota Campus. Several activity stations with different art projects will be set up in the Ann Goldstein Children’s Rainforest Garden during each monthly event. Elementary school age children will have the opportunity to create their own nature-inspired art with a variety of materials. Similar events scheduled for April 26, and May 31. Activities will run from 10 a.m. to noon each session, and participation is included in admission to the Gardens, which is always free for Selby Gardens members. Admission to Selby Gardens’ Downtown Sarasota campus is $28 for adults, $12 for ages 5 to 17, and free for children 4 and under. Tickets may be purchased online in advance at selby.org. March 29, 2025:  It's the 10th Annual My Hometown Fest, Southwest Florida's biggest and best neighborhood block party, featuring food, music, craft beer and spirits from across the USA. Each year, My Hometown Fest draws thousands of people from Florida’s Suncoast for a day of fun featuring food from dozens of area restaurants, free craft beer samples from around the country, and live music from the region’s best bands. The event features plenty of family friendly activities as well. March 30, 2024: TBA for 2025. The whole family will enjoy a free and open-to-the-public 2024 Easter Poke-Hunt that includes coffee, egg hunting, music, bouncing, and free admission to the Manatees’ 1 p.m. baseball game on Saturday, Mar. 30, from 9 to 11 a.m. at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., Bradenton. No RSVP is required. The event entrance is between SCF’s Library and Learning Center, Building 3, and Neel Performing Arts Center, Building 11.

March 30, 2024: TBA for 2025.  It's the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at The Children's Garden. Each child can collect 12 eggs filled with treats and treasures to bring home. If you're lucky, you might find the rare GOLDEN EGG, or one of three other eggs with a prize ticket inside. You'll be joined for a visit by "some-bunny" very special - the Easter Bunny! The doors will open at 9:45am - The Hunt begins at 10 am sharp and lasts until the eggs have been collected. Tickets are available at entrance, no pre-registration needed. Admission is included with the cost of the Egg Hunt. All kids participating in the egg hunt are required to pay for admission. The Children’s Garden is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit public charitable organization. Adults and Teens 13 years & up: $10 +tax. Children 3 years & up: $6 +tax. Egg Hunt will be in two groups: Under 7 years old  at 3 p.m. and 8 - 12 year old at 4 p.m.

Enjoy a Special Sunday at the Bay Easter Performance featuring Sheri Nadelman, one of the area’s most sought after musicians with a stellar reputation as a consummate entertainer. This versatile performer has been delighting audiences with her powerful and intoxicating vocals as a singer-songwriter solo artist, and as the lead singer of the popular band, soulRcoaster. With an ever-expanding repertoire and a true gift for engaging the crowd, it is no wonder this multi-talented musician is in high demand!
